Mariam AlAgha, MS. Human Nutrition

Mariam AlAgha joins us with 8 years of experience in human nutrition. Her expertise spans both individual and community levels. She has excelled at assessing health issues and dietary needs and creating customized, culturally sensitive meal plans. Additionally, Mariam has supported educational and nutrition programs for vulnerable populations, focusing on disadvantaged women and children.

Mariam is trained in the Social and Behavioral Communication Change (SBCC) approach, enabling her to address various health challenges with strategic and comprehensive communication strategies. She teaches nutrition classes that cover general topics and those specific to cultural or health issues.

Mariam firmly believes in the philosophy that “you are what you eat” and strongly advocates for adopting a holistic approach, or the Body-Mind-Spirit (B-M-S) approach, to health and wellness.

Interests

Mariam’s particular areas of interest include the mental health of young adult women and trauma-informed care.
